HYBRID SYMPOSIUM ON PROFILING AUTHORSHIP AS AN OCCUPATION

 

THEME: “PROFILING AUTHORSHIP AS AN OCCUPATION IN THE KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY”

 

UTANA is a member driven association upholding and enhancing the profile, significance and rights of academic and non-fiction authors in Uganda. UTANA in conjunction with the Norwegian Non-Fiction Writers and Translators Association (NFFO) is pleased to announce a one-day workshop focusing on exploring and defining authorship as a professional occupation in today’s knowledge-driven society. The activity to be a commemorated during the Workshop include: Workshop Book Exposition and UTANA General Assembly.

 

Book Exposition: An outstanding author(s) shall have an opportunity to showcase and promote their published works during the UTANA workshop. Interested authors to expose their works are invited to submit their personal profiles and books to be exposed to [email protected].

 

Purpose of the Workshop: To define parameters for profiling authorship as an occupation in the knowledge society, emphasizing the value and recognition of authors in education, knowledge creation, and national development.

 

Objectives:

 

  • To Expose participants to an understanding authorship as a recognized occupation.

 

  • To define the roles, responsibilities, knowledge areas, and code of ethics guiding professional authorship.
  • To explore strategies for moderating and strengthening authorship as an occupation

 

Target Audience:  Authors and Members of UTANA
